GDC Vision

Role, Scope, and Impact
· The University Team is the education powerhouse of GDC. The Team is responsible for GDC’s delivery of knowledge transfer, life skills training, basic learning, human capital, cultural and diversity education, and more. Diaspora organizations are often very focused on their communities. Both organizations and communities may have different difficulties in accessing the education and training required because of their diasporic circumstances. The University Team will not only lead a creative team to develop curriculum and learning materials, but the role will also explore innovative ways to inspire diaspora on future trends, challenges, and opportunities. GDC aims to create its own courses/programs for diaspora organizations and communities in need so that they could further enhance their ability in self-help and knowledge in where to get more help.
Job Purpose
· Responsible for exploring innovative ways to inspire diaspora on future trends, challenges, and opportunities. GDC university team shall create its own courses/programs for diaspora organizations and communities in need to allow them to further enhance their ability in self-help and knowledge in where to get more help.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Working with Country Team to regularly review and evaluate diaspora community education needs (tangible + intangible) in specific regions/countries
· Proposing short, medium and long-term projects in response to the needs
· Collaborating with Development and Country teams to assess project practicality
· Actively reaching out to partners and GDC volunteers to gather project ideas
· Developing strategies to transform pilot projects into sustainable programs
· Researching and updating the learning resources and platforms available from different countries and intergovernmental organizations
· Maintaining an annual calendar of educational events
· Organising with the Events Team on specific educational events
· Working with Partnership Team and Country Team to support governments’ and potential partners’ education initiatives that can benefit diasporas in need
· Developing useful online courses/programs for specific groups of diaspora (e.g. geographic, age, gender, culture, industry) including training the trainers
· Providing education consultancy to diaspora organizations in need
· Developing partnerships with education institutions with Partnership and Country teams, especially universities that have research centers of diasporic studies
· Producing trendy learning materials with the Marketing Department that can be shared with wider groups of global diaspora
· Ensuring all work is archived and can be readily obtained
· Organising customized one off training when necessary
Expected skillset (Qualifications) including but not limited to:
· Detailed knowledge of global Diaspora.
· Trustworthy, empathetic, charismatic, positive, influential, engaging, inspiring
· Able to motivate and lead a team effectively, setting clear objectives to manage performance
· Ability to apply innovative approaches in teaching, learning or professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy, and inclusivity
· Able to Apply research to develop learning and assessment practice
· Works collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups
· Leadership, project management, problem-solving and research skills
· Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with the volunteers and members of the Diaspora Organization
· Excellent skills in computer applications
· Strong understanding of GDC
· Good presentation skills
· Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
· Excellent attention to detail
· Strong planning and organizing skills including a thorough and methodical approach and ability to prioritize
