Bio

I'm Virginia Garcia Romero, a young Italo-Uruguayan Policy Officer in European and International Organizations, certified to provide specialized advice on EU and International regulations. I've specialized in Sustainable Development and Global Governance, analyzing transnational and interregional innovation as a way towards achieving the UN 2030 Agenda.

I hold a master's degree in Global Economic Governance and Public Affairs, as well as a bachelor's degree in Law with focus on International Law and a bachelor's degree in Administration and Business Management (done contemporaneously).

I’m the XXIII winner of Profesor Manuel Broseta Foundation’s prestigious prize in University Legal Studies (05/2021), awarded by former Spanish Minister of Justice, Mr. Juan Carlos Campo, for an original legal monograph on children’s rights, as well as demonstrated excellency throughout my legal training.

Currently, I'm Project Manager at Invest in Valencia Office - a newly created office by the Valencia City Council and the Chamber of Commerce. I work to attract quality foreign investment to Valencia to consolidate its economic and technological development. I also have the priviledge of helping companies to establish themselves in the city, trying to make the process as easy and efficient as possible.

I have experience at NGO level, having been director of slavefreetrade's Youth Program (08/2021-08/2022). There I advocated for corporate social responsibility and worked to activate younger generations to create the positive social impact they wished to see in their communities.

throughout 2021 I worked as Research Assistant for UNDP & UN Women in their COVID-19 Global Gender Response Tracker. As part of the Governance Team, I conducted in-depth policy research on countries, monitoring and analyzing national COVID-19 Task Forces and measuring women’s participation. I acted as Regional Leader for the Americas Region (North America, Caribbean and South America) Governance Group, coordinating a group of three data collectors.

I have a life-long record of adapting and reinventing myself across the most diverse scenarios. I'm passionate about what I do and believe that this is the key to my achievements.
