Description of Institution

The IOM Mission in the Republic of Moldova opened in 2001. Moldova became a member State of the organization in 2003.

The cooperation over these years has focused on:

Migration and Development
Prevention and Protection from Trafficking
Migration Management
Facilitated Migration.
Recently, in the framework of the Ukraine Crisis Response, IOM Moldova has provided humanitarian support to the needs of Ukrainian refugees, third-country nationals, and host communities, through direct assistance and other support to Moldovan authorities, local civil society organizations, and the private sector.
