How do diasporas express their sense of belonging in multiple societies?, Diasporas helping their communities: what is it like to assist communities during a crisis? |

Imagine what we’ll do if we had the power of the sun in our hands, oh well at least we have those powers in our eyes. They will be no old nor new lands cos the sun shines on them all ,through this power we hope to see the true beauty of our home lands , a beauty we should guard jealousy. But yet again they say beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. |

Youth and children are learning new skills like photography, riding a bike and learning a new language. Diasporas know and feel each other's struggle and during the crisis, they will make sure their communities are supported as much as possible. All will eat or no one will eat. That is what I have leant from diasporas. |

How do diasporas express their sense of belonging in multiple societies?, Youth and their roots: what is it like to be born or grow up as a member of the diaspora; how can the youth connect with their homeland? | The title, "LAND OF EVER RETURN" intentionally points out to the unending fact that no matter where we go around the world, we consciously or unconsciously cannot but remember where we come from. Most time our identities is influced and can be traced back to our homeland. There's a saying that " There is no place like home". This statement cannot be over emphasised and that is why i chose this tile for my category of photos (unedited and mobile photography). I hope the world is able to see this part of the world from my perspective. I am glad for the opportunity to introduce my Art to the world through photos. Thanks |

How do diasporas express their sense of belonging in multiple societies?, Youth and their roots: what is it like to be born or grow up as a member of the diaspora; how can the youth connect with their homeland? | The collection attached shows a series of photos taken from a demonstration for Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawdeh at Hermannplatz in Berlin. We see young Palestinians and other Arabs gather together to shed light on the violence imposed on Palestinian detainees left in jail without charge. Seen clearly as a repetitive theme in the photos is the Keffiyeh, the traditional patterned scarf marking Palestinian identity and symbolising the struggle for self-determination. Here, the youth carries the story of their ancestors and proceeds to send the message of hope to keep fighting for liberation. Because of the exile of over 80% of the Palestinian population after 1948, a large younger Palestinian population lives in diasporic communities. Activities such as solidarity gatherings help raise awareness about underexposed headlines from Palestinian territories and life under occupation. |

How do diasporas express their sense of belonging in multiple societies? |

I attended the re-opening of diplomatic, commercial, and travel relations between Colombia and Venezuela, countries which have been both friends and foes since their inception in 1810. On opening day, I witnessed boundless kindness from local Colombo-Venezuelans, in spite of the difficult political tensions in the region. Venezuela and Colombia have been hit hard by the pandemic and ensuing economic crisis, adding to long-lived dire humanitarian conditions fueled by violence, corruption, and external pressures. My photos are dedicated to the locals who made an effort to help their fellow travelers, despite these tenuous times. They show the often-forgotten humanity behind the two Bolivarian countries' long relationship and the histories that bind the two nations together. |

Here are these photos that have expressed that everyone from child to old thinks their belonging and is a sea. 2nd Photo: child and man might have arrived in a new country and this boy is unaware of it. his father is with him and with his bike in the park. Child may not remember all that happened in his old country. only the moment he remembers, maybe the smell of his father and the sound of the birds. 3nd Photo: Sometimes you use technology for pleasure, sometimes just to call your loved ones and hear that they're okay. In this picture the man is riding a new technology bike and he has a dog. Isn't it different, one longing for the other and another in another country. think about it. |

Is a series of 40 polaroid pictures made in the year 2021 by the artist Andrés Parra, better know as Nia De indias. |
