LGBTQ Diaspora in Buenos Aires by: Carloman Macidiano Cespedes Riojas

Country of Origin: Peru
Country of Residence: Argentina

Although we leave our countries in search of a better future, I find in several immigrants that the implicit and main reason is to find that freedom that is not available at home. This documentary project in process was born in the form of my personal experience. Photography seeks me and finds me, it forces me to represent those issues that surround me, that touch me closely, that make me suffer and liberate me, I am a gay immigrant in Buenos Aires.
"I miss my country, but in Buenos Aires I have freedom. Here I can go down the street dressed as I want, there is freedom to be and wear whatever I want."
"I don't want to go back to Peru, going back would be giving up my identity, outside of Miraflores I wouldn't be able to walk hand in hand with another guy."
"I have been in a relationship with Pablo for 8 years, but my family in Colombia thinks he is a friend."

    Bray from Colombia
    Brief Introduction
In Colombia due to my father's censorship, it was difficult for me to wear accessories or bright colors, I am still in the process of identity. I recently bought a light blue and pink T-shirt; this has changed my attitude and I feel cheerful.

    Brief Introduction
I am in a change of identity. Buenos Aires has given me the possibility, a kind of freedom that maybe in Ecuador I would not have been able to have.

    Candido de Salta
    Brief Introduction
Salta is a very conservative city, it is done but not said, there are many limitations from the moral and religious point of view. I always liked Buenos Aires, the diversity, here they don't look at you, you dress the way you want.
