Looking to share the stories of emigrants from South America and their descendants
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the fundamental contribution made by transnational communities of migrants and diaspora to the resilience of their countries and communities of origin has become ever more evident and it will be even more important for the post-pandemic socio-economic recovery. But to maximize the impact of these contributions, there is a need to ensure government policies and programs respond to the needs and aspirations of their compatriots abroad.
With this in mind, at the Regional Office for South America of the International Organization for Migration we are collecting data to help South American countries create programs and public policies to open spaces for empowerment for their communities abroad. As part of a regional assessment, we are inviting all members of South American diasporas to share their opinions and perspectives with us through a short anonymous survey that only takes about 5-8 minutes to complete.
