Biografia

He is now an Assistant Director, District Employment and Manpower Office, Cumilla under Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training, Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Before this, he held the same position in Kushtia, Pabna and Chuadanga district offices. The key responsibilities include creating and promoting overseas employment, arranging and conducting awareness-raising programmes to ensure safe, orderly, regular and responsible migration and to prevent human trafficking, conducting outreach activities in educational institutions, arranging and conducting in-house training for staff and other stakeholders, delivering welfare services to the migrants and members of their families, helping in migration-related services to the aspirant migrants, registering migrants, providing online visa checking services, issuing NOC to the family members of the expatriates, psychosocial counselling to returning migrants, helping in reintegration of the returnee migrants, redressing and managing complaints of the migrants, mediating in disputes concerned with migrants and their families, career counseling to the aspirant migrants, pre-departure briefing to the outgoing migrants, helping in legal issues of the migrants, coordinating with UN Agencies, IGOs, NGOs, CSOs and other stakeholders.

He completed his B.A (Hons) in English and M.A in English from the University of Kalyani, India. After graduating, he started his professional career as a Lecturer in English at Mirpur College, Dhaka. Then he moved to Doha-Qatar to join Bangladesh MHM School and College as a Lecturer in English. He also taught at Cambrian College, Dhaka for a short period and at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka for more than six years. He successfully completed over 80 online courses on diverse topics such as human rights, migrant rights, child rights, women rights, international migration law, international refugee law, international humanitarian law, anti-corruption, smuggling, human trafficking, leadership, digital skills, global citizenship education, conflict analysis, peacebuilding, climate change, UN System, sustainable development goals and so on. He attended a number of training programmes at home and abroad. He last attended 17th International Migration Law Course at International Institute of Humanitarian Law, Sanremo, Italy from 19 to 23 November, 2019.

He was awarded Shonar Manush Sheba Award-2019 by Refugee and Migratory Movements Research
Unit (RMMRU) for outstanding contributions to the migrants of Bangladesh.
