The International Conference on the Future Agenda of Action for Global Diaspora Engagement, organized jointly by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Government of Cabo Verde, bringing together the supporters of the Dublin Declaration to glean insights from leading-edge practices in diaspora engagement. Additionally, the conference inaugurated the Global Diaspora Policy Alliance. This alliance is envisioned as a pivotal foundation for crafting the future roadmap of global diaspora engagement initiatives.

The Migrants in Countries in Crisis (MICIC) Guidelines establish a series of non-binding principles, guidelines, and practices to help governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders, including diasporas, to better protect migrants lives during crisis. Diaspora is referenced across all three MICIC Guidelines overarching areas: crisis preparedness, emergency response, and post-crisis action, with diaspora being recognized as a key stakeholder.
