The National Diaspora Policy intends to create the most conducive conditions so as to strengthen ties and dialogue between the Government of the Republic of Burundi and the Burundian diaspora (Burundians living abroad and their descendants) who live there for whatever reason and keep ties with their country of origin. The policy aims, firstly, at strengthening confidence in order to consolidate unity and national
cohesion and, secondly, to strengthen the multifaceted contribution of the diaspora to the development of the country.
