The Amended Constitution of the Arab Republic of Egypt was issued in January 2018. The Constitution makes explicit reference to Egyptians living abroad, the State being responsible to: safeguard their interests; protect them and their rights; enable them to perform their public duties; encourage their contributions for the development of Egypt; regulate their participation in elections and referendums; and endeavour that they are represented in the House of Representatives. The document is in Arabic language. The official English translation will be provided as it becomes avaliable.
