The consultancy seeks to strengthen capacities of the national governments, research institutions and IOM field missions in conducting high quality, cost-efficient, effective, and comparable diaspora mapping studies as well as using mapping methodologies that are attuned to the specific objectives/needs of the governments (such as skills resources, remittances, return potential, investment and philanthropy). Relevant to SDG 17.18: enhancing capacity-building support to the governments and increasing the availability of high-quality, timely and reliable data disaggregated by income, gender, age, race, ethnicity, migratory status, disability, geographic location and other characteristics relevant in national contexts.
