Presentation on the photographic series

Audible Silence
Navigating identities: is there a relationship between Diaspora’s homeland and new land? How do diasporas express their sense of belonging in multiple societies?, Youth and their roots: what is it like to be born or grow up as a member of the diaspora; how can the youth connect with their homeland?, Diasporas as influencers: how does the diaspora contribute positively to their societies through the use of technology?
My series showcase the amazing experiences of living outside my country. The amazing food, cultures, sunsets and most importantly the friendships built with people from other countries too based on our mutual interests and passions. The challenges can be overwhelming and sometimes hinder our ability to see the silent beauties of the new places that we find ourselves in. It also showcases some visible effects of climate change which i relate to as silence. Most of the effects of climate change are described by silence. When there are no trees animals leave and therefore the space become silent. When rivers are dry there is no more sound because of the missing water flow so the river becomes silent. When there is a drought and floods people die and therefore the spaces become silent. All these silences are audible as they indicate a lack of something.

Title: Climate Change - Water Scacirty
Brief introduction: A dry mass of land that used to be a river, a good depiction of climate change. The silence of the river because of no water flow has created intercommunal conflict
