In response to the COVID-19 crisis, iDiaspora organized three Global Diaspora Virtual Exchanges to create a collaborative space where diaspora groups from around the world could share their best practices responding to the pandemic. Through these events, diasporas were able to showcase their work and enhance synergies with policymakers, practitioners and stakeholders responding to the pandemic.

This document is an abridged version of the longer report titled Mapping and Mobilizing the Rwandan Diaspora in Europe for Development in Rwanda: Comparative Report.

Realizing the importance of its diaspora in economic development, the Government of Rwanda would like to identify the conditions and factors that are necessary to engage the diaspora in the development of their country of origin. The Government believes that there is a real need for a well-established structural and strategic framework both in Rwanda and abroad to mobilize, coordinate and integrate the Rwandan diaspora into national development.
